Fine Art Printmaker

Rachel Merrigan is an artist, designer, researcher and educator based in Ireland. She specialises in various printmaking techniques such as etching, screenprinting as well as vitreous enamel, combining these methods to create a rich and layered visual experience.

Informed by her background in design, Rachel explores the possibilities of shape, colour, and texture through her printmaking work.  This approach allows her to push the boundaries of traditional techniques, infusing her creations with a contemporary aesthetic. 

Central to Rachel’s artistic exploration is her inspiration drawn from the folklore and indigenous healing practices of ancient Ireland. Through her printmaking, she endeavours to bring these stories to life, offering a fresh perspective on age-old narratives through a contemporary lens.
